Tea Party Time!

Do you remember getting all dolled up, sitting at a table with your stuffed animals with a little teapot filled with water, and cups in front of all your guests? I do! I would have my American Girl Dolls and stuffed animals all dressed up. Playing tea party was just fun, and now my two daughters love to have them as well.

Something we decided to do this year was have a...'before school starts tea party'! We invited our family, and some of our friends to enjoy in the celebration! Luckily, I gave myself a few months to plan and prepare. Now that I am older, I really like to go all out with my tea party's. I have a dear friend who taught me all about tea parties, so every time I have one I think of her.

For our tea party, I went with a lemon a theme. I found a beautiful green garland and lemons from my favorite store in the world, Hobby Lobby. I took my small collection of teapots and teacups and turned our house into a dream spring party. I love getting out my crystal and china for events such as these to add a little flare. I also added beautiful yellow flowers, and colorful bead necklaces, elevating the feel of joy and pure girly-ness.

On top of the beautiful decorations, you can't beat the food. From chicken salad croissant sandwiches, scones, pastries and cakes. All completed with a delicious English breakfast tea. Tea party's are a great way to make memories, while bringing the young and old together. I personally love to make it fancy and we all get dressed up to make it a special event. We don't do it often, but I know it will last in my girls memories forever.
