I am a snacker. I have been trying to create snacks that are healthier for me, and can be fun to make. Well, I have found a new reason to love my airfryer.
I am a huge fan of beef jerky. I am just not a fan of the cost. It can be so expensive buying jerky at the store. So, when I took advantage of the meat sale the other day, I made sure to take grab some meat I could turn into a delicious snack. I was blessed to find a sirloin steak roast. I thinly sliced that roast cutting out all the fat. When making jerky, you do not want to have any visible fat left on your pieces. I marinated my meat for about 48 hours. I used the Panda Express Teriyaki sauce you can find at walmart. You can use a variety of sauces, this is just what I happened to use this time.
After the meat was done marinating, I placed the slices on the cooking racks in my Pampered Chef airfryer. I turned it to the dehydrate setting, and let it go for 3 hours at 170 degrees. The jerky came out not too hard and is easy to chew. It has the perfect balance of sweet, and salty, giving me the perfect snack. Of course, I am not the only one who likes jerky in my house, so this batch might not last very long, but hey, I call that a success!
