Who doesn't love a good pizza? I know I sure do. Pizza is one of the best foods that allow me to get real creative and try new flavor combinations, and it's an easy meal. Tonight was a night for trying new flavors, and it was a success!
I made my own crust using four cups of flour, one teaspoon of salt, two teaspoons of active dry yeast, and roughly two cups of warm water. I get it all mixed together, and allow the dough to rest for about 4 hours (8 hours is best if you have the time).
I fry up three slices of bacon to get it all crispy. I slice up one pear, one tomato, and three basil leaves. I put three chopped cloves of garlic in three tablespoons of olive oil, and set aside. I pull out the goat cheese, and the mozzarella cheese pearls.
I preheat the oven to 400°F or about 205°C. I divide the dough into two separate balls. I roll them out, and place them on a cooking pan. I baste the pizza crusts with the garlic olive oil. On one pizza I put the pieces of tomato, handful of mozzarella cheese pearls, and basil. The other pizza I put the pears, handful of mozzarella cheese pearls, goat cheese, basil, and the bacon bits. I sprinkle the tops of both pizzas with a pinch of salt, and cook for 20 minutes.
The flavors were heavenly together. My family quite enjoyed each pizza giving this mom a joyful heart. Be blessed, and enjoy making your own family pizzas!
